Friday, October 31, 2014 – PLAYER CHECK-IN (On Field for Interviews) & WELCOME DINNER
1:00pm to 3:00pm – FUTURE STARS Player Check-in at 3B Gate to receive uniforms. Player interviews will be captured on field (home plate & pitchers mound) Player’s need to be wearing sports jacket and tie for interview.
6:30pm to 10:00pm – Welcome Dinner – MANDATORY – BE DRESSED IN JACKET & TIE
Saturday, November 1 – POWER SHOWCASE HOME RUN DERBY
7:30am to 2:00pm – FUTURE STARS POWER SHOWCASE
3:00pm to 3:45pm – Meeting with Michael Cooper (Human Performance Mentors) – Rangers Media Room
4:00pm to 4:30pm – Team meeting NL (Salinas & Davila) Rangers Media Room
4:30pm to 5:00pm – Team meeting AL (Huskey & Ambrose) Rangers Media Room
6:00pm to 9:30pm – Shagg for High School Home Run Derby
7:30am – 7:45am – Player Check-In – First base dugout – Coach Joey Jara
Players/Hitters will be able to warm-up in both indoor batting cages adjacent to the Visitor’s Clubhouse.
8:00am – 8:30am – Player Introductions
8:30am – 8:35am National Anthem performed by Emmanuel Espiritu
8:35am – 8:45am – Staff Prep Time
8:45am – 2:00pm – HR Derby Begins – 11 and 12 year-olds will compete first
During the preliminary round, each Future Stars participant will receive 15 outs with the bat of their choice (wood or metal). The field dimensions will be slightly different for each age group as well as the velocity of the pitching machine. The field dimensions and velocity for the 11 & 12′s will be 55 mph from 50 feet away – 225-250-225. The field dimensions and velocity for the 13 & 14′s will be 65 mph from 55 feet away – 275-300-275. The top three player’s from each age group will advance to the finals on Sunday and compete for the National POWER SHOWCASE Future Stars Home Run Derby Champion!
Sunday, November 2
Due to the 12:00pm Cowboys home game on Sunday Nov 2, it was strongly suggested that all participants and parents be in the stadium before 2 pm. The roads will be closed due to the release/traffic from the game.
Parents – parking lots E & K are specifically designated for the POWER SHOWCASE group. There will only be ONE gate open to the stadium – Gate 3B
Game as well as the Finals for the POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby.
Game 1 – FUTURE STARS – 7:30am to 1:30pm
7:30am – Player Check-in – dugouts
7:45am – 8:00am – Arms/player’s get loose
8:00am – 8:20am – Visiting Team Infield/Outfield
8:20am – 8:40am – Home Team Infield/Outfield
8:45am – 9:00am – Player Introductions – Visiting Team annouced first
9:00am – 9:05am – National Anthem performed by Sydney Cope
9:15am – First Pitch
2:30pm – ALL PLAYER’S Watch POWER SHOWCASE Finals
Finalists can use the three batting cages. Players who are hitting first will have priority. During the Finals each player will receive 15 outs with the bat of their choice – wood or metal. Same field dimension as preliminary round. The top three Future Stars finalists from each age group will compete together. The top three underclassmen will compete with the top three seniors. Players will be able to warm-up in the 3 indoor batting cages adjacent to the Visitor’s Clubhouse and Rangers Media Room.
1:30pm – 2:00pm – Player’s meet with Joey Jara / 1st Base Doug-out / Warm-up in three cages
2:15pm – 2:20pm – Player Introductions – ALL Finalists
2:20pm to 2:25pm – National Anthem performed by Joel Lagrone
2:30pm – 3:30pm – Future Stars – (3) 11/12 & (3) 13/14) will compete together
3:30pm – 4:30pm – High School – (3) Underclassmen & (3) 2015 Grads
