I had the great pleasure of getting to know Elvin over the course of the 2010 season when he participated as part of the USA Baseball 18U National Team, of which I am the Director.

Elvin is an exceptional young man and played a major role in our 2010 campaign during which the team finished with a 19-2 overall record. From very early in our Trials and Training process Elvin exemplified all the characteristics of a great leader and teammate. Despite only being a high school athlete, he consistently exemplified the characteristics of a consummate professional on and off of the field. I firmly believe that team chemistry doesn’t guarantee you success but it certainly can prohibit a team from achieving it. Elvin’s tireless work ethic, light hearted nature and incessant desire to strive for something more, to be just a little bit better everyday made him one of the pace setters for our summer tour.

In between the lines Elvin let’s his play do the talking for him. Our staff showed immense trust in Elvin as he served as the starting catcher for our club, which was blessed with a bevy of talented pitching. His advanced defensive abilities allowed him to excel for our team during the IBAF World Championships and set himself apart as one of the best catchers in the world. Â He is a constant presence that demands great attention and planning from his opponents.

Elvin’s love for the game and all around exemplary demeanor are pinnacle in our annual quest to honorably represent our great nation in international play. Any institution should be very proud to have such an outstanding individual as part of its program and history and as such it is my pleasure to call Elvin a member of the USA Baseball family.

Please let me know if I can provide any further information for you, I endorse Elvin Soto with my highest recommendation.
