In my year plus coaching Omar. both for Lake Worth Christian and the Florida Pokers during the summer. I have been most impressed by the way that he goes about his business, both on and off the field. He has quiet way about him. He is not a flashy guy who needs everyone to acknowledge his accomplishments, though very impressive. He is a quiet leader who leads his team by his actions both one the field, at bat and behind the plate, but also off the field as a wonderful example of the organization which he represents. At the plate he has a very calm demeanor and has some of the most professional at bats that you will ever see for someone his age. He never rushes, never expands the zone he just approaches each at bat waiting for his pitch and when he gets it he does not get cheated. I have coached at the collegiate level and scouted for PG during the summer and I have seen this kid hit some balls further than any I have seen. He has professional at bats and he has the type of power that projects very well into college and pro baseball. He has the kind of talent that can carry a team as all of his teammates are constantly looking to him for leadership and he always seems to deliver.
As you can see, I have a very high opinion of Omar as a player as well as a person and I am proud to have had the opportunity to coach him. – Ryan Combs Athletic Director– Horeb Christian School Recruiting Coordinator – Florida Pokers
