Throughout my tenure at JSerra, I have been blessed with a plethora of outstanding student/athletes, and without a doubt, Nico Darras is one of the finest young men, I have been associated with. This young man has an appeal and aura about his desire and work ethic with the game of Baseball and life. His soul focus is to get better every day through his core values on life. God, Family, Baseball. Not mention, he carries an outstanding 3.5 GPA in the Classroom. He is a prime example of what kind of a student/athlete should exhibit in the Home Run Derby Power Showcase. He is a young man committed, dedicated, and a tireless worker in every attribute in the game.

He was the only Sophomore on a team with now 11 Division 1 Commits, and his future is bright as well as his time has come to be the next in line to be a Division 1 prospect. His Baseball sense is that of a grizzled veteran, and he understands the game, and the willingness to achieve greatness on a minute-by-minute basis. He understands how to carry himself, whether it be by a success or failure, he continues to possess the same demeanor, and stretch the boundaries of how to conduct yourself and as a positive role model for High School Baseball.

Nico has an uncanny way of leading his peers around him, he definitely seeks to motivate and lead in anyway he can. His work ethic in bettering himself and bettering those around him go absolutely noticed on a daily basis. He is a selfless individual in promoting school spirit where he has created the Lion Nations student section, and now is on the field taking pictures to promote the school to the outside community. Nico Darras is in every sense of the word, is a Person of God, Family, and a Student of Baseball.

Nico in a sense doesn’t know how to fail, and faced with any adversity in life, he comes at it full throttle. Life is a storm my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes.- (Alexander Dumas)

For me, as his High School Baseball Coach, that is Nico and how he goes about his daily life, and this goes for what he is capable of and what he intends to do moving forward in his life and baseball. We at JSerra are extremely fortunate to have Nico Darras in our program, and he is the Future of JSerra Baseball. It is an honor and blessing to have such a committed and outstanding human being in our program.
