I am extremely pleased and honored to be asked to write a letter of character for Joey Curletta. I have known Joey for over 3 years as an athlete on my Junior Varsity football team and Varsity Baseball Team. During this relationship, I have witnessed the tremendous organization, athletic ability, intelligence, and sound moral character that Joey brings to a school and/or team. Joey is that athlete that coaches describe as, a “Freak”; he has great size, quickness, hands, and speed. All of these allow him to be a presence on the athletic field; however, his intelligence allows him to dominate that field. He is able to put himself in the right position, execute a play, and do it correctly without thinking about it. In order to put in the amount of practice hours required to have success on the athletic field and be just as successful in the classroom, one must be very organized. This skill has allowed Joey to help lead the 2010 Mountain Pointe Baseball Team to a State-Runner up finish, all the while maintaining a 3.7 GPA.In conjunction with Joey’s academic and athletic ability, comes a very strong moral character. During these past three years, Joey has been involved in a Christmas Angels program, which adopts 20 children and purchases gifts for them over the holidays; helped pack gift bags for local All-Star games and accumulated close to 100 community service hours.
