It is with pleasure that I write to you regarding Joey Greco’s character on and off the field. I have known Joey for six years now and this will be my fourth year coaching him. Joey has always demonstrated a mature and respectful attitude while on campus. I have never once witnessed or heard of any issues regarding Joey and his peers. While most kids keep quiet, Joey often times will approach me to discuss important topics that concern the team. He will share with me his progress in school and ask me for advice with his future plans. He is level headed and bright. It is quite easy to carry an adult conversation with him. Joey comes from a close family. He has a bond with his brothers that is hard to find these days in many families. He is a young man who has strong faith and has been taught good morals and respect for others.
While on the field I see a young man who wants to work hard and become the best player he can be. He is very coachable and tries to apply any adjustments that his coaching staff suggests to him. He is a leader on the field and players do respect him for that. In the past three seasons that I have coached him, I can honestly say that he has never caused an issue with the opposing team or an umpire. While in the dugout, he often recognizes and comments about his opponent’s great play or hitting ability. I can count on him to represent his school and program in a positive way.
Joey is a young man who would be an asset to any program. He is the type of person that would not bring concern to a coach on topics that may tarnish the school’s reputation. When you get a chance to meet him I am sure that you will enjoy his personality and his mature behavior. – Gaetano Gianni – Head Baseball Coach – Notre Dame Prep High School
