NICK’S Baseball Website:

It is my privilege to write this letter of recommendation for Nicholas Tedesco. I am the General Manager of Hank’s Yanks New York, a Baseball League and community service outreach program.

Over the past several years, Mr. Tedesco has demonstrated tremendous leadership, commitment and willingness to help others with his involvement and commitment to baseball and to our current community service programs.

Mr. Tedesco is one of the most energetic, loyal and committed individuals that I have had the pleasure of knowing.  Mr. Tedesco exemplifies the absolute best qualities of a young man.

On the baseball field, he demonstrates leadership, sportsmanship, respect for others and a desire to succeed at all that he does.

Off the field, I have found him to be compassionate, giving and supportive.  He takes great pride and joy in helping others, whether it is working with children of special needs, raising monies for cancer research or working in a soup kitchen to feed the homeless. His sacrifice of time and assistance demonstrated his willingness to help others.

Mr. Tedesco should be considered an outstanding candidate for your organization.

Mark Wilson

General Manager Hank’s Yanks

It is with great pleasure to write this recommendation on behalf of Nicholas Tedesco.  My association with Nick has been as his coach, teacher, and mentor for the past five years.  In this time, Nick has demonstrated all the qualities deemed necessary to be an effective leader.

Nick has been a starter throughout his Sachem Baseball Career.  As a Varsity Athlete Nick has been vital to the Baseball program’s success; Nick played in every game last year as he plays many positions on the field, but it is his tremendous attitude, work ethic and competitive spirit that makes him irreplaceable on our roster.  He became someone to rely on throughout his junior year. We are very excited to see what is in store for Nick this year on varsity Baseball.  His quiet confidence and completive spirit will lead to great things this year on the baseball diamond as well as in the future.

In the classroom, Nick demonstrates the same drive, along with a great personality. Upon speaking to my colleagues, it is evident that Nick is a great student, with a caring heart.  Nick is constantly volunteering his time whether it’s participating in March Madness, the Turkey Bowl, Relay for Life, Cancer Walks, or the Thanksgiving Food Drive.  Nick also volunteers outside of school with the Miracle League of Long Island; Nick always makes time to help others

This applicant has repeatedly shown he has the ability to budget his time, a key to success at any school of higher learning. Nick is an outstanding student, maintaining an un-weighted grade point average in the high nineties.  Finally, Nick’s fine academic past has led him to receive Academic Awards in Criminal Justice and Global History. Nick is also a member of the National Honor Society, President of the Business National Honor Society, and a member of the National Science and National History Honor Society.

I give Nick my highest recommendation possible; he is a kind, caring young man who strives to bring out the best in himself and others.  He has been the definition of a model citizen, student, and team player throughout the years.  Nick would be an asset to any program and university.

NY Nick Tedesco Miracle League of Long Island Nick has partnered with John Graham & Miracle League of Long Island for Home Runs that Help

John Graham is an 8-year old boy who has been a member of the Long Island Miracle Baseball League for several years.   Nick chose to work with and sponsor the Miracle League Of Long Island because he believes that everyone deserves the chance to play baseball!  Nick sponsored John in last year’s Home Run Derby and hit a 387′ Home Run for John. Nick sponsored the Miracle League of Long Island when he won the Area Code Games New Balance Game Changer Award and New Balance donated $2,500 worth of apparel to the Miracle League on Nick’s behalf.  Nick has become a spokesperson for the Miracle League and participates in numerous community service events each season.

The Miracle League of Long Island’s mission is to establish and sustain baseball programs for people (of all ages) with disabilities. The objective is to provide an opportunity for those individuals to experience the joy and benefits that come from playing our national pastime. The aim is to help the league’s players develop social skills and increase their self-esteem, while promoting community support and sponsorship for the league.

Nick believes everyone deserves the chance to play baseball! That is why Nick Tedesco has volunteered his time and becomes a BUDDY! The word BUDDY stands for “Because Unbelievable Dedication Deserves YOU!” Buddies are a vital part of the success of the Miracle League. Each Miracle League player is assigned a BUDDY for each game. The BUDDY is there to protect the player from balls, assist the player in batting and running the bases, and to be a friend on and off the field. BUDDY’S receive a Miracle League shirt for their participation and a lifetime of memories. As a member of Hanks Yanks, Nick Tedesco has participated as a BUDDY in numerous Miracle League games over the past few years and has helped many different children.  Being a BUDDY allows you to make a difference in a special child’s life.

“What makes each day so much fun is that you have an opportunity to make a difference. You can hit a home run to win a game and feel good about that, or you can help teach someone something they are having difficulty with and the reward can make you feel even better.  I don’t worry about baseball statistics because I play for a cause,” stated Nick Tedesco.
