Kyle has partnered with Jeramiah Daniel for Home Runs that Help

At age one, Jeremiah has already been through more medical procedures than most endure in a lifetime. Diagnosed with sickle cell anemia one month after birth, Jeremiah has spent much of his life at CHOC Children’s. Sickle cell anemia is an inherited form of anemia, a condition in which there are not enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen throughout the body. This can slow or block blood flow and oxygen to parts of the body causing extreme pain. Jeremiah goes to the hematology clinic every three months and is admitted to the hospital for pain treatment multiple times a year.

Jeremiah inherited his disease from his mother, Merlinda, who also suffers from sickle cell anemia.

Between Jeremiah and Merlinda there are always doctor’s appointments, medications, along with recurring emergency situations. This places a great burden on Jeremiah’s father, James, to provide financially for the family. James has no car and works forty hours a week struggling to make ends meet.

All of these extra expenses add up, making it difficult for the Daniel Family to cover their monthly bills. James reached out to Miracles for Kids for assistance and now receives monthly aid from the Grant Program to help cover their rent. The Daniel Family also receives basic necessities four times a year from the Basket of Miracles Program. Through the assistance of these two programs, the Daniel Family is able to focus on their overall health and well-being.
