Ben has played baseball since the age of 4 – he has helped his teams to accomplish All Star Championships / AA Championships & Travel Ball Championships throughout the years! Ben received his Black Belt by the age of 7. Ben was voted to Student Council at Rogers Elementary Frisco TX for 3rd & 4th Grade – he also received the 2009-2010 Principals Award for “High Integrity”. Ben is an excellent student and athlete and we appreciate that he gets this opportunity to participate in such a grand event!

Ben is one of the most humble, and very talented players I’ve ever coached.  He is a great team player, who is skilled in many sports.  In Baseball, he is a great 3rd baseman, with equal ability to play catcher, play the outfield and even pitch.  Ben makes his PTI baseball team, and his parents very proud with not just his success on the field, but his recognition for being the Highest academic achiever.  Taking advanced classes is not an easy task while being 100% devoted to sports every day, but he is a High honor role student with the capability of landing a 100% scholarship to just about any major college institution in the land.  His baseball hitting power will make Ben a true contender in this years Home Run competition. – Coach Eddie Gonzalez PTI Maniacs

My name is Jason Jennings and I began lessons with Ben at age 8. He was always one of my favorite students because of his coachability, mental toughness, and ability to pick up new info very quickly. He comes from a great, supportive family and is an absolute bulldog on the mound. But also the kind of kid you want your own son hanging out with off of the field. I look forward to watching Ben as he continues to grow as a ball player and young man!

Ben is a quality young man with good family and christian values. His family is a tight knit one, which allows Ben the ability to focus on being a good young man, good student and a baseball player. In the time I worked with Ben as an individual instructor, he was always very polite, respectful and willing to try to make corrections to better himself. I hope my son grows and is as respectful as Ben. Hope all the best for him.

I had the pleasure of coaching “Cheekbone” for 4 seasons. He was the absolute coolest player to coach: a grinder, a bulldog, a stud, a quiet leader, a winner. He played with passion and was a quick study, always listening and never screwing around. He wanted to succeed & wanted others to do the same. He was a team player & a kid that you wanted your kid to hang around with. His parents are rock solid, and they have groomed him well. If baseball is in his future, it will not surprise me. The kid knew how to make the plays.

I am writing this recommendation for Ben Cheek for the Power Showcase.    I am the Manager of the Fishhawk Wolves 12U team and had the privilege to coach Ben for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 season (11U).   First off, Ben is a wonderful young man with good qualities.   He is a team player that pushes his teammate to be the best they can be.   Ben has a very good work ethic and gave his all  for the two seasons.    Ben is a talented baseball player that includes versatility in many positions – Catcher, Pitcher, 3B, 1B, and OF.    At the younger ages, I encourage learning and excelling at more than one or two positions.   Ben bought into this philosophy and worked very hard to be a versatile player.   Ben routinely batted in the 6 hole for the team that featured a lot of speed in the 1-5 positions.    Even though Ben is a power hitter, he accepted the role in the lineup and excelled.

Greg Stallings – Manager – Fishhawk Wolves 12u

Ben has partnered with Chase Havener for Home Runs that Help

Ben has partnered with Juvenile Diabetes – Tampa Bay Chapter to honor his teammate and friend “Chase Havener” for Homeruns that Help!

Chase is an incredible young man who was just recently diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetesand has impressed everyone around him with his courage, positive attitude and forging ahead  always with a “smile”!

It’s a time of education for family, friends and teammates – and we are all so happy to donate to such an important cause to bring awareness and hopefully to have a cure one day!
