Schedule & Format – 15U Babe Ruth Classic

Monday, December 26th – Arrival & Check-in 12:00pm to 10:00pm Player Check-in Hilton Hotel – Downtown Miami – CONCERTO A Room
12:00pm to 10:00pm– Players will receive their uniform and pick/choose their POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby batting order.

Tuesday, December 27th – 10:30:am to 4:00pm – MLB Scout Day & Welcome Dinner 7:00pm to 10:00pm

FOOD/DRINKS are permitted in the stadium


SNACKS –  It is strongly suggested that you bring some protein bars, fruit, drinks, or any other snacks to consume as the days will be long.


Player’s will check-in with their Head/Assistant Coach’s (Coach Tyson Ambrose/Daniel Lackner & Lou Siciliano) at the Diamond Club Entrance 10 minutes before your scheduled meeting time.  There will be visible signs and Marlins staff to help guide you to your designated current and future locations.

PLEASE keep in mind that there are two younger groups (78 players) going through their MLB Scout Day before you. Be patient as they finish up and be ready to go immediately when they are done.

Both Team meeting with be located in the Ricoh Diamond Club Lounge

10:00am to 10:30am – Team meeting – 15U National – Coach Ambrose & Lackner

10:30am to 11:00am – Team meeting – 15U American – Coach Siciliano

11:00am to 11:15am – Head to the field for updates and projected Scout Day starting time
11:15am – Scout Speech Intro – Pittsburg Pirates Nick Presto
11:30am to 4:00pm Defense & Batting Practice
7:00pm to 10:00pm – Welcome Dinner – Location Marlins Park


Wednesday, December 28th – Mental Strength Session and Shagging for High School Home Run Derby.

The Preliminary Round for the College Select & High School POWER SHOWCASE will begin at roughly 12:00pm. The starting time may fluctuate because of the younger age groups home run derby taking place beforehand.

Players and Coach’s should plan on watching the College Select competition before attending your Mental Strenth Session with Michael Cooper at 2:00pm. Location: Marlins Media Room – Parents are 100% encouraged to attend.

FOOD/DRINKS are allowed in the stadium.

11:45am to 12:00pm Player/Team check-in – Diamond Club Entrance. Players will be escorted to the third base dugout to watch.

2:00pm to 3:00pm – Mental Strength Session – Marlins Media Room

3:15pm to 6:15pm – Shagging is Mandatory


Thursday, December 29th – Home Run Derby & Game

HOME RUN DERBY – PRELIMINARY ROUND – 11:00am to 3:00pm. & GAME 7:00pm

It’s going to be a long, but an extremely exciting competition. The top two finalists will advance to the Championship Round on December 30th and compete for the World Title – 1:00pm to 3:00pm

During the preliminary round, each participant will receive 15 outs with the bat of their choice.

The field dimension will be 310ft-375ft-310ft.
The pitching machine will be set at a velocity of 62/65 mph from a distance of 54 feet.
The top two finalists will advance to the Championship Round.


*WILDCARDIf a player hits the furthest Home Run and does not finish in the top two, he will also advance to the finals.

The leaderboard in left field will highlight the top three in each group.

Players will check-in with Coach Jerry Gonzalez in the third base dugout. Once everyone has been checked-in – player’s will head to the outfield to shagg until the 13/14 home run derby concludes.

PLEASE keep in mind that the starting time might vary slightly because of the 13U/14U home run derby taking place beforehand.

Introductions/National Anthem – Simply do to time constraints, we will not have individual introductions. There’s a total of 34 (15U) participants. Batters 1 through 17 will line-up along the first base line and 18 through 34 along the third base line.


9:45am – 10:00am – Player check-in with Coach Jerry Gonzalez at the Ricoh Diamond Club Lounge

10:00am – 11:00am – watch/enjoy the younger home run derby

11:25am – National Anthem performed by MADISON LOVE

11:30am 15U POWER SHOWCASE begins 

15U GAME – 7:30pm to 11:00pm

Again, the starting time of the Babe Ruth Classic will depend on the either events. The game will begin exactly 30 minutes after the conclusion of the 13/14 Combo Game. 

Offensive MVP will be announced immediately following the game. 

Coaches, kindly have your line-up cards filled out and ready to be handed in one hour before your scheduled game time. Josh Turner will be by to retrieve it from you.


5:15pm – 5:45pm – Players will check-in with coach’s at a designated location and sit together as a team until the earlier game comes to a close. 

6:00pm – Coach Tyson Ambrose/Daniel Lackner & Lou Siciliano, kindly have your line-ups completed and turned in to Josh Turner (or Luis Perez & Chad Angerhofer), as they will need to present them to PA and Marlins Staff.
