“Kellum and KK Clark chose Carter Cline and his family (Meagan – Mom, Brandon – Dad and Baker – Lil Bro) as their “Home Runs that Help” partners.   Brandon is a gifted educator and Meagan is a nurse in our community of Brandon, MS.

Carter was born in 2010 with a  rare birth condition called O.E.I.S. (Cloacal Exstrophy).   It effects 1 in 400,000 live births and is considered by the experts at Johns Hopkins to be the most complex birth disorder to be compatible with life.  The condition caused Carter to be born with many of his organs on the outside of his body.  Carter has already had over 30 surgeries since birth.  Carter also lives with Spina Bifida.   He is very blessed to be able to walk.   Carter will undergo several more surgeries as he gets older to continue to repair his bladder and organ issues as well as other issues as they arise.

When Kellum and KK started learning about the “Home Runs that Help” opportunity their immediate choice for a partner was the Cline family as they are a sweet gift to our Community of Brandon.”

I have known Kellum Clark for about a year and a half, both as a coach and a family friend. I have the pleasure of coaching him in the summer on my tournament team. Because of this, I can say with complete confidence and wholeheartedly that Kellum is a dedicated athlete who leads others by setting a strong example through effort and intensity both on and off the field. I can say without hesitation that Kellum is loyal and demonstrates strong moral values we desire to see evident in our children and athletic team representatives.
Kellum is a great competitor. Through my experiences with him, he has repeatedly demonstrated the unique ability to play with great poise and consistency under the direst of circumstances. He excels under pressure and maintains his composure regardless of the situation. This has surely impressed me. Few athletes have this sense of confidence, leadership and composure through the game’s struggles, which are so inevitable.
It is my humble opinion that Kellum would be an asset both personally and athletically to any team or event. Ben McDonald

I’ve coached Kellum for the last two years.  Kellum is one of the hardest working most committed players I have ever coached.  He is constantly  pushing himself to thrive to the best he can be.  He started for our varsity team as an 8th grader, he showed maturity that was well beyond his age and grade.  He also was very humble in the sense of being an 8th grader starting on a varsity team.  This really showed in how he interacted with his other 8th grade classmates.  Always being very supportive of them in their 8th grade season, even though he was not part of that team.  That gave us look into his character and makeup as a baseball player and more importantly a young man.  Kellum also excels in the classroom at Jackson Academy, he is quickly becoming one of the leaders in his grade.  He is a very grounded humble young man who happens to be blessed with a tremendous amount of baseball ability.  With this being said, I would overwhelmingly recommend Kellum for any team that would be lucky enough for him to be a part of.
