Brian Mayer is a professional catcher with the Sussex County Miners of the CanAm League and also an assistant baseball coach at North Broward Prep. The 2016 Inaugural College Select Power Showcase World Champion has had great success at the amateur and professional levels. While at the University of Delaware, Brian lead the Blue Hens to their first ever Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Title and first regional appearance in over 20 years by slugging 11 home runs with a slugging percentage of .648 and an OPS of 1.034. During that time, he earned Second Team All-CAA and CAA All-Tournament team honors. After finishing his college career, Brian signed professionally to play with the Sussex County Miners of the CanAm League.
In 2016 Brian won the first ever College Select POWER SHOWCASE hitting a total of 24 home runs with the longest traveling 491 feet. He hit 8 in the preliminary round securing himself in the finals. After hitting 16 home runs in the championship round, 5 consecutive, and hitting the longest home run of the derby, Brian was crowned the 2016 Inaugural College Select World Champion and also took home the “Colossus of Clout” award.
