ALL-WORLD CLASSIC – TEAM USA

If there ever was a young man who was deserving of taking part in a prospect power showcase, it would be Eric Feliz.Eric has been with us here at IMG Academy for 3+ years and I have been nothing but impressed with his actions on and off the field.  He is an extremely coachable, intelligent, and hard working young man.  When coaches are talking directly with Eric or to the team as a whole, he is fully engaged and focused on learning and improving. At the plate, Eric has one of the quickest and most explosive right handed bats I have seen at the high school level. He has terrific pull side power and he is working to develop opposite field power.  He is a very good outfielder with a solid arm and sub 7.0 60 yard dash time. Eric is confident and he knows that he can play, but he also realizes that he has a great deal of work to do.  His internal drive makes him one of the hardest workers on the team and a joy to be around. – Coach Pete Paciorek

NJ ERIC FELIZ
nj ERIC FELIZE HRH Eric has partnered with Gabriel Pozo  for Home Runs that Help
In September 2010, our cousin Gabriel Pozo was unexpectedly diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, at the beginning of 11th grade. He was a normal kid, a brother, a son, a student, simply looking forward to the new school year and all the new experiences it would bring. And he was dreaming of getting ready for college….Leukemia was not in his plans. Instead of feeling sorry for himself or giving up, Gabriel showed the world that he had the courage to meet the challenge head on. Not only did he go into the arduous treatments in good spirits, but he continued to study with a home study aid all throughout so that he could continue to follow his dream to go to college. He worked so hard and even though he was ill, and hospitalized for weeks, he managed to make the honor roll. Gabriel is the youngest of five children and lives in Bethlehem PA, with his family. His mom Vilma is his rock, who has remained at his side all throughout his treatment. Leukemia meant that his life turned into very long trips to St. Christopher Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, and long weeks of chemotherapy treatments, away from friends and family. Throughout all of this, he has remained a happy, courageous and kind person, never showing bitterness about this curve ball that came his way. Because of what happened to him, he committed to give back to his community.  While going thru chemotherapy, he managed to do volunteer work with The Ronald McDonald house, and was interviewed for a service announcement for Ronald McDonald charities. Gabriel continues to be full of hope for the future, and has maintained a positive attitude throughout this long journey. He is hoping that in January 2014, with God’s grace, he can hear those words he’s been waiting for the last three years: you are cured and cancer free!
