Rece started with the U13 Gulf Coast Elite in the Fall of 2012 as a 12 year old. Rece came to the team as a short stop but soon took on the roll of the starting catcher after Scott Hemmond took him under his wing and started showing him the ropes of a true catcher. Rece has stepped up to his role as a leader on this team by calling the pitches and the plays in their games. He is known as the best catcher in North Florida. Rece still likes to play short stop when possible but enjoys his new position that he is taken on as leader/catcher on this team.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rece also played middle school baseball this year with his middle school team, Ruckel Middle School, where he was the only starting 6th grader. He was a starting 3rd baseman and catcher. He also was 2nd in leading the teams in home runs. – Coach Berry Drake

FL RECE HINDS WITH ALEXIA

Rece has partnered with Alexia for Home Runs that Help.

Alexia is 17 years old and in May of 2013 was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthirits. Alexia has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old. She has played recreational soccer, travel soccer and high school soccer. She was known as the best midfielder in the Panhandle of Florida. Alexia has survived 2 ACL tears and during the recovery of her 2nd ACL tear she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). She has recently returned to playing soccer, as she is determined to continue playing what she has loved and what has been such a huge part of her life. Alexia’s determination and success at surviving anything that comes her way is an inspiration to Rece and for this reason he would like to dedicate his success in this showcase to his older sister and the research for Rheumatoid Arthiritis.
