As the coach of the Bill Crothers Colts Varsity baseball team, I have had the great pleasure of working with Darcy who has been one of our most dedicated players for the past 4 years.  I would highly recommend Darcy for admission to post secondary education programs based on my interactions with him during the past 4 years. Darcy is an extremely hard worker who always puts his best effort into every practice and game we play.  He has the unique ability to adapt to difficult situations, as he is a very quick learner.  During his time on the high school baseball team Darcy has demonstrated flexibility and willingness to learn new fielding positions and contribute wherever the team may best use his talents.  He has a strong work ethic and is very coachable.Darcy is an excellent team player who is always eager to play.  The coaches frequently comment on Darcy ‘s positive attitude and ease with which he gets along with the other players on his team.  He has great leadership skills and is looked up to as a mentor and role model by the younger players on the team.  Darcy also shows great initiative when he is on the field and understands the importance of team concept.  He frequently initiates drills and warm ups and provides feedback to his teammates.  Darcy shares his observations during games, relaying pitcher ‘s tendencies and opposition’s defensive strategies to teammates.  He is a self-directed learner and is always looking for ways to improve from his coaches and teammates.  He sets high goals for himself and takes advantage of every opportunity for additional practice during the season.   Darcy possesses all the tools to be a fantastic contributor to any baseball team. He hits for average, he hits for power, he possess both speedand smarts on the base paths, he has great reactions and a quick first step that contribute to him taking good routes to fly balls and he has a strong accurate arm from the outfield.  More importantly , Darcy understands the flow of the game and is able to anticipate play as it unfolds before him allowing him to make good decisions.Darcy has superb communication skills with his teammates and coaches.  I have no doubt that his personable nature will serve him in contributing to team camaraderie. I hve also had the pleasure of teaching Darcy in the classroom where he was a student in my senior level Sport Management Class.  As a student Darcy is very responsible as he always respectfully communicated extended absences that he may have had due to hisbaseball training outside of school.  Darcy is always conscientious in completing his assignments and completes his tasks showing pride in his work.  It is with extreme pleasure that I recommend him to your program.R. CANADA DARCY MOORE
CANADA DARCY MOORE WITH AMARI PITTER Darcy has partnered with Amari Pitter for Home Runs that Help
Amari Pitter is 18 years old and an inspiration to all who meet him. He has Cognitive Functioning and Processing Disorder. Amari struggles daily with many simple tasks that we often take for granted.Darcy first met Amari through his high school baseball coach Scot Angus. Coach Angus took Amari “under his wing” and accepted him as a player on his baseball team. Amari dressed with the team, and practiced with the team, but would only participate in exhibition games (pre-arranged with the opposing coach to have the pitcher gently toss the ball to Amari to hit). This one at bat for the season was a highlight for Amari. The life lessons that it taught all the other players on the team will be something they will have forever. The sportsmanship, supportiveness, and caring are attributes that shine through. Amari is an active member of the high school basketball and baseball teams, and his positive attitude and sense of humour is contagious as he cheers for his teammates and engages in playful “chirping”. Amari dislikes running poles and doing suicides with the team, but it doesn’t detract from his love and passion of being on a sports team. Amari also enjoys playing video games; his favourite person is his grandmother who has looked after him since he was little.“I was honored to be invited to participate in this well respected event. Playing baseball has opened up a world of opportunity for me over the past few years on the field, but this opportunity is allowing me to do something special off the field” says Moore.
