Schedule & Format (12u-Rookies)
The event will be Steamed/Broadcast LIVE on the powershowcase.com Home page each and every day.
Tuesday, December 26th 
2:00pm to 9:00pm Player Check-in Hilton Hotel – Downtown Miami – 1601 Biscayne Blvd.  CONCERTO A Room

PLAYER CHECK-IN – Hilton Hotel – Downtown Miami – 1601 Biscayne Blvd
The Hilton charges a parking fee. 
Park across the street at Burger King/ Checkers or
1 block away is a Publix grocery store – park in that lot or the rooftop parking.

Players will receive their uniform and pick/choose their POWER SHOWCASE Home Run Derby batting order.
LATE ARRIVAL – For players that arrive after 9:00pm – your number will be picked and your uniform will be placed in your bag and will be waiting for you on Wednesday morning in the First Base Dugout.

FYI – PLAYERS ARE TO BRING THEIR EQUIPMENT (gloves/turfs/bat helmuts/catchers gear) TO THE BALL PARK EVERY DAY, AS THEY WILL HAVE MANDATORY SHAGGING TIME SLOTS.

Also, parents and coaches, I strongly suggest a group text for communication and a daily meeting spot for player check-in.

Food – Concessions will be closed – Coolers Food/Drinks are allowed – No Alcohol Allowed! There is a Subway & Wendy’s within walking distance.
Entrance – Players/Parents will enter through the Diamond Club Entrance morning/day.
 
 
Wednesday, December 27th 
7:30am to 11:00am – MLB Scout Day
3:00pm to 6:00pm – Welcome Dinner

7:30am – 7:45am – Player Check-in will be third base dugout with your respective team/coach.
7:45am – 8:00am – Scout Speech Intro – Pittsburg Pirates Nick Presto
8:00am – 9:30am – Defense & Batting Practice
9:45am to 10:45am – Mental Strength Session – Michael Cooper Mandatory for all parents and players.

3:00pm to 6:00pm – Welcome Lunch/Dinner 
Thursday, December 28th 
11:45pm to 12:15pm – Team Meetings
National Team – Visitors Club House (Players Only)
American Team – Media Room (Player’s Only)
12:30pm to 1:00pm – (Both Teams) Special Guest Speaker Tommy Lane – Mandatory for all parents and players
1:00pm to 2:00pm – Mental Strength Session – Michael Cooper – Mandatory for Parents and Players
2:15pm 5:15pm – Mandatory Shagging & Catching – College Home Run Derby
Friday, December 29th
12U ROOKIES (FUTURE STARS) POWER SHOWCASE HOME RUN DERBY PRELIMINARY ROUND 
During the preliminary round, each participant will receive 15 outs. The field dimension will be 225ft-225ft-225ft. The pitching machine will be set at a velocity of 50 mph from a distance of 50 feet.
The top two finalists will advance to the Championship Round on December 30th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm
*WILDCARD: If a Player hits the furthest Home Run and does not finish in the top two, then he will also advance to the finals.
 
Preliminary Round
7:30am to 7:45am – Players will Check-in with Coach Eddie & Jerry Gonzales at the Third base dugout.
8:00am to 8:30am – Player Introductions – After being announced, the first 4 home run derby participants will immediately head to the Visitors indoor cages (with Coach Triston Cummings) to get warmed-up.
8:45am – National Anthem performed by Avery Whitacre
8:50am – Further preparation
9:00am to 12:00pm – Future Stars Rookies POWER SHOWCASE Preliminary Round Begins – It is MANDATORY that all player’s shagg and catchers catch during the derby.
 
 
Saturday, December 30th – Team Meeting – POWER SHOWCASE Finals – 2:00pm to 5:00pm. The actual starting time of finals may slightly.
 
1:30 pm – 12U Home Run Derby Finalists – You will meet Jerry or Eddie Gonzalez in the Visitors Clubhouse.
 
Players will meet your Head Coach at the Diamond Club Entrance 10 minutes before your scheduled Team Meeting. You will walk as a team to the Visitors Clubhouse.

12:00pm to 12:30pm
Team Meeting – National League – Visitors Clubhouse – Coach Brian Mayer
 
12:30pm to 1:00pm – Team Meeting – American League – Media Room – Coach Jerry Gonzalez
 
2:00pm to 5:00pm
Mandatory Shagging – Three-hour time-slot.
Coaches, you will escort your players down through the 3rd base entrance. You will remain on the field with your players.
Sunday, December 31st
12U Rookies All-American Game
9:00am to 1:30pm (4 1/2 hour time limit)

OFFENSIVE MVP ANNOUNCED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE GAME
Coaches, kindly have your (three) line-up cards filled out and ready to be handed in one hour before your scheduled game time.  There is a three-run max per-inning. Teams will simply switch.  Players will be rotated every inning, for fair and equal playing time.
 
8:00am – Player/Team Check-in at your designated dugout
AMERICAN – First base dugout – Head Coach Jerry Gonzalez
NATIONAL – Third base dugout – Head Coach Brian Mayer
8:15am to 8:30am – Players get loose 
8:30am to 8:45am –  (pitchers/catchers & coach to bullpen)
8:50am to 8:55am – Home plate meeting Coaches & Umpires
8:55am to 9:00am – Players Line-up on respective first/third foul line
9:05am to 9:10am – National Anthem performed by Mckenzie Perry
9:15am – First Pitch
