MJ has partnered with Quinn Faerdy for Home Runs that Help

At the age of 4 months Quinn received a heart transplant due to a virus that attacked his heart and caused him to go into heart failure. He was in and out of the hospital for about 10 months that first year but battled through it all. In the years following the transplant, his parents noticed that Quinn was having developmental issues. In July 2014, after seeking the help of a geneticist, it was discovered that Quinn has an extremely rare genetic disorder. This is a progressive disease and without treatment he will continue to decline neurologically and physically. At this time, the only treatment for this disease is a bone marrow transplant. Quinn was extremely fortunate that his brother Ty, was a perfect match for Quinn, as using an unrelated donor would have been too risky.

Quinn recently underwent the bone marrow transplant at the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital in December and is living with his family at a Ronald McDonald house in Minnesota as he recovers from his procedure.

MJ has been raising money through the use of social media, getting Quinn’s story out to others through his Facebook page as well as email blitzes. His travel baseball organization, his school and his community have all come together to support him to raise money for this courageous boy and his family. This one is for the mighty Quinn! We can’t wait to have you home.
