Walker has partnered with Penelope Magnusson  for Home Runs that Help.
Penelope Grace Magnusson was born on March 7th 2008. Her mother Joni was 18 weeks pregnant with her when they found out she had Down syndrome. Joni has been friends with both my parents since High School. Currently Penelope is 9 years old and is in the fourth grade, she is well educated and is learning to live with her disability. Her parents Gisli and Joni have contributed much to helping her and the community understand Down syndrome. Down syndrome, also known as trisomy21, is a genetic disorder caused by abnormal cell division which results in extra genetic material. Down syndrome causes a distinct facial appearance and intellectual disability. However, Penelope has fought hard to get around it and she is an inspiration to me and everybody she meets. I look forward to helping her and the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville raise money and awareness of this disorder through the Power Showcase Home Runs that Help event
