Gary was born in American Paradise, St. Thomas US Virgin Islands where he began playing baseball at the tender age of 4.  He attended and played high-school baseball at East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC and Jefferson Davis High School (JD) in Montgomery, AL.  After a successful 2 year career at JD, he received a full scholarship to attend Lawson State Jr. College in Birmingham AL, where he received team MVP honors his freshman year.  After his first year at Lawson State, Gary moved on to Tennessee State University (TSU) where he was the starting 2nd baseman his junior and senior years. After returning home in 1985, Gary immediately began coaching Little League and has been sharing the values and training techniques learned at the D1 level at TSU.  He currently coaches at the Jr. and Sr. Little League levels and also serves as the Vice President for the local Little League and 1st Vice President for the Virgin Islands Baseball Federation.  Gary also had the opportunity to coach the Virgin Islands University Baseball Team at the 2006 World University Games in Cuba, which they placed sixth out of eleven participating countries.  He has also been the Manager for several Virgin Islands Jr. and Sr. League allstar teams at the Latin American/Caribbean Regional Tournaments.
