SCHEDULE/FORMAT – 6th Annual POWER SHOWCASE

The 6th Annual POWER SHOWCASE is being held on December 27th – 29th 2011 at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ home to Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks.

Monday, December 26th

1) Sheraton Hotel Check-in

2) Uniform Pick-up will be at the Sheraton from 12:00pm to 9:00pm – located on the 2nd floor in the ENCANTO “A” Room ~ signs will be posted. Player’s will also draw a number/selecting their batting order for Tuesday’s 6th Annual POWER SHOWCASE. Considerations have also been made for the players who are participating the Babe Ruth Classic Wednesday morning. The player’s will draw numbers between 20 and 60. This will provide them with an opportunity to obtain the necessary rest (the night before) do to their early Check-in time of 7:15am.

3) Light Workout to be held at ASU from 12:00pm to 9:00pm.

Tuesday, December 27th

The Top (100) Power Hitting Prospect from around the globe will demonstrate their current and future Power Hitting ability during a World-Wide live internet broadcast on the power showcase website – www.power-showcase.com. During the preliminary round each player will receive 20 outs. The 20 outs will be broken into two rounds. The players will use both wood and metal bats. The first 5 outs are with wood and then 15 with metal (BESCR bats allowed for 2011 event). In the event that not everyone has hit during the preliminary round during the time scheduled then they will hit on Wednesday before the Championship Round. When everyone has competed, the TOP Five players regardless of their class will advance to the Championship Round. The Championship Round will take place on Wednesday, immediately following the Babe Ruth Classic 12:30pm to 2:30pm. During the Championship Round, each player will receive 15 outs. The player can use the bat their choice – wood or metal.

Wednesday, December 28th

Inaugural All-World & All-American Baseball Classics at Chase Field. The three games are planned for ten-innings and or three-hour time limit. Each game is being broadcast streamed live on the POWER SHOWCASE website. An Award will be presented each game by Chandler Bats (Rx Sports) for The Most Outstanding Offensive/Clutch Performance.

GAME TIMES:

Game 1: 9:05am to 12:00pm – Babe Ruth Classic

12:15pm to 1:45pm – 6th Annual POWER SHOWCASE Finals and extra time for preliminary round if necessary

Game 2: 2:35pm to 5:30pm – All-World Game

Game 3: 7:05pm to 10:00pm – All-American Game

8:00am to 8:15am stretch/throw – stretch on the side and then throw once the NL outfielders are finished

8:15am to 8:30 Infield/Outfield

8:30am to 8:40am players get dressed

8:40am to 8:50am American League Team is announced

9:00am to 9:05am National Anthem

6th Annual POWER SHOWCASE Championship Round – 12:30pm to 2:30pm

The TOP Five players regardless of their class will advance to the Championship Round. The Championship Round will take place immediately following the Babe Ruth Classic 12:30pm to 2:30pm. During the Championship Round, each player will receive 15 outs. The player can use the bat their choice – wood or metal.

“Scout Day” ~ Location – Good Year Ball Park – CHECK IN TIME: 7:45am to 8:00am & Good Bye Dinner ~ Location Sheraton Downtown (6:30pm to 11:00pm)

Scout Day will be broadcast and streamed live on the PS website

There will be a mandatory informative lunch session for all players and parents – lunch (Subway) will be provided. Hall of Fame Coach Rich Hofman will speak about NCSA National College Scouting Association.
