The Dominican Prospect League is proud to announce its inaugural Power-Showcase Home Run Derby EventThe DPL-POWERSHOWCASE HR Derby took place at the New York Yankees complex in Boca-Chica May 6th. The All-Star players had a lite workout for MLB scouts, followed by the preliminary rounds of the Home Run Derby. The finals were held at the Estadio Cibao May 7th before the All-Star game. Babe Ruth’s Granddaughter Linda Ruth Tosetti will provide a replica Babe Ruth bat called “The Colossus of Clout” Award to the longest Home Run of the event. This award will be one of many handed out throughout the weekend. Mr. Brian Domenico and his staff will be on hand evaluating the top power hitters and prospects for 2011 and 2012 in search of the best players available in Latin-America to participate in the Power-Showcase Futures Game to be held at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamond Backs at the end of the year. The Power-Showcase is known for having participants the likes of Bryce Harper and Daniel Vogelbach hitting monstrous shots at the event. Power Showcase President, Brian Domenico said “I am extremely excited about the partnership with the Dominican Prospect League.” The DPL’s vision and movement is clearly towards preparing and educating the DR’s most exciting amateur prospects, while bringing them to the forefront of professional baseballs top evaluators.” With the assistance of Brian Mejia, Ulises Cabrera and additional DPL officials, we will identify and select four Youngman who will proudly represent the Dominican Republic in the upcoming Inaugural “Futures Game” The POWER SHOWCASE’S “Futures Game” continues to bridge the gap internationally. Whenever you take an individual countries passion, cultural diversity, history, pure love for the game and blend them together, something amazing happens. The POWER SHOWCASE will introduce you to the stars of tomorrow, today. The “Futures Game” will be held at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ (home to the Diamondbacks) on Thursday, December 29th, 2011. |

POWER SHOWCASE President, Brian Domenico with Carlos Valdez, Jose Miguel Pujols (2012 – Underclassman Champion and DR Rep for the upcoming 6th Annual PS and “Purity & Power Generation” Baseball Classic participant), and Hersin Martinez.
