Brian Rapp is a 2014 RHP/SS with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Mendham, NJ who attends Delbarton High School. He has a medium frame and athletic build. On the mound, he has a smooth balanced delivery with solid mechanics and repeats well. Pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot and has a good solid arm action with looseness and the ball comes out easy and clean. His fastball has arm side run and was aggressive with pitch. He complemented his fastball with his slider and change-up. His slider was his out pitch and had sharp bite to it. He mixed in his change-up that had sink and maintained his arm speed well. Brian showed the ability to throw all his pitches for strikes and has the demeanor and pitchability to excel at the next level. Good Student.
I have been coaching high school baseball since 1995. I have coached several talented players over 16 years. I understand the type of player and more importantly, they type of person you are trying to identify to attend your event. I have known Brian Rapp for over three years. We have a very good relationship.Brian is my starting shortstop and he also pitches for our team. He is D1 scholarship pitcher. He throws in the upper 80’s and has a plus curveball. His command and compete level are second to none. He is the guy everyone wants on the mound in a big spot. He has courage and demonstrates composure in every situation. In addition, Brian has a tremendous work ethic and love of the game. He is passionate about baseball. He is a good teammate. He is well liked by our staff and all of his peers. I am looking forward to coaching him for another two years. He is a great kid. I recommend him to your program enthusiastically.  – Bruce Shatel, Delbarton Baseball Coach
