Jacob Schmidt has been a great asset to the Oakleaf High Baseball team.  Jacob displays the type of character that you desire from your players on and off the baseball field. Jacob shows great leadership skills on the field. He understands the game and takes the initiative to encourage and direct fellow players. He demonstrated great decision making abilities on the field, thus earning him a starting catching position as a freshman. Jacob is one of the hardest working young men that I have coached. He is always one of the first to finish a running drill and always pushes harder and longer than his fellow players. Jacob has an attitude of determination and perseverance, making him a great competitor.

Jacob also displays great character off the field. Jacob is always on time to school and his classes. Jacob is an honor roll students who consistently earns good grades and works hard on his studies. He cares about his fellow classmates and players and seeks to be a good friend. Jacob is respectful to teachers and those who are in authority over him.

I have truly enjoyed coaching and getting to know Jacob over the past year. Even as a young player, he has had a great impact our baseball program. I am looking forward to coaching him in the next few years and watching him develop as a player. I know the character he displays on and off the field will carry him far in his baseball career.  –
