Coach Brian Mejia

Brian Mejia started working in baseball after high school. His first job was in the FL Marlins mailroom. He slowly engaged in the Scouting Dept through present LAD Assistant GM/Farm Director Dejon Watson. After winning in 1997, he was offered the Scouting Directors job with the Cincinnatti Reds in 1998 and named the Latin American Coordinator based in the Dominican Republic. In 2002 after a 5 year stint with the Reds, he moved back to the USA and linked up with the Louisville Sluggers as Sports Marketing/Endorsement deals/Product placement. His next job was heading the Under Armour Baseball Department.  Ulises Cabrerea and Mejia were agents for CAA sports under Casey Close (agent for Jeter/Howard. We eventually branched off on our own to start the DPL and represent players in the free agent Latin American amateur space. The DPL provides MLB teams with an effective vehicle through which thorough evaluation of baseball talent can be achieved. We develop and prepare Dominican prospects, both physically and mentally, for the responsibilities and demands of playing professional baseball. We improve the quality of instruction given to players by their trainers. We organize the historically fragmented stakeholders of the Latin American Baseball Community.
